PostSubject: History of Chin i no Kata, Ten ni no kata   Sun 3 Feb - 5:59

I am asking members of Gensei-Ryu if they know where Shukumine Sensei developed them. Are they originals or were they developed based on kata in Shuri-te or chinese kempo??

The style I train in was developed by an american marine after being stationed nearly 10yrs in Okinawa and having made at least instructors grade in all the major styles of karate. The style is Goshin do karate developed by Frank Van Lenten sensei who passed nearly 2 years ago now...

Sorry to post this quite lately.
Ten-i, Chi-i and Jin-i-no-kata are original katas made by Seiken Shukumine, I think from a base of shurite. He developped these katas in the main island of Japan, after the war.

Is your style related to Gensei-ryu ?
